HPE brings its own flexible flash consumption models to the data centre
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has launched a new initiative to speed up the adoption of all-flash data centre.
It addresses demand for flexible storage consumption models and helping customers to transform to a hybrid IT infrastructure.
The HPE 3PAR Flash Now initiative enables customers to acquire the all-flash technology on-premises starting at $0.03 per usable Gigabyte per month.
HPE Storage vice president and general manager Bill Philbin said: “Capitalising on digital disruption requires that customers be able to flexibly consume new technologies.
“Helping customers benefit from both technology and consumption flexibility is at the heart of HPE’s innovation agenda.”
The company said that its 3PAR StoreServ Storage platform has emerged as top performer in all-flash array market share growth, performance, and economics.
Offering multiple complementary technology and support elements, HPE 3PAR Flash Now is expected to allow customers to benefit from all-flash storage performance, embedded data protection and application availability.
It is aimed at simplifying migration from legacy storage and providing a way for customers to manage future technology transitions.
Besides, the initiative brings together technology innovations, programmes and services such as HPE Flexible Capacity and Pre-Provisioning.
The complementary elements included in the initiative enables customers to optimise cash flow by deferring payments and accelerate service delivery.
The benefits also allows for minimisation of refresh risk with built-in non-disruptive upgrade to next-gen technologies such as storage class memory and NVMe.
The initiative will help in maintaining control over data locality, eliminating the costs and complications of reclaiming data from the cloud.
To support networking bandwidth and ability to rapidly connect apps to infrastructure, HPE has also announced a complete update to StoreFabric 32Gb (Gen 6) Fibre Channel portfolio.
The portfolio features HPE Smart SAN technology for fully automated orchestration directly from HPE 3PAR StoreServ flash storage arrays.
