Epson Sales, the Japanese marketing company of Seiko Epson Co, has announced a tie-up with Autodesk Inc, Sausolito, California, to sell 80486-based Epson personal computers with AutoCAD Release 12J, the Japanese version of the latest AutoCAD release; the price the Epson CAD-Station A is about $2,300, almost half the price of comparable hardware systems running AutoCAD; as a result, Epson hopes to sell 1,000 systems per year; the deal follows its tie-up with Digital Equipment Corp earlier this year, marking Epson’s move into vertical market systems business.
