Fine-tuned apps suite now a must-have
Outsourcing and IT service consulting firm EquaTerra has said it plans to add enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems advisory support to its roster of services.
It reasons that organisations are looking for fast efficiency gains and cost reductions and that well-tuned ERP systems can enable SG&A (selling, general and administrative) expense reduction, lower overheads and smooter, faster billing.
The advisory firm will assess existing enterprise applications, assist with vendor selection, contract review and negotiations, and recommend ERP implementation or enhancement processes.
The new service is headed by Scot Armstrong, the company’s managing director of Enterprise Systems Advisory Services. He said, “Three top areas to cut costs within a business are IT, enterprise systems and business processes.”
At a time when cash is scarce and business missteps could prove fatal, too many ERP projects result in budget overruns of 15 to 30%, months-long implementation delays and service disruptions that can damage business, the company said.
