The European Commission is asking all telephone companies in the Community to provide details of the rental and connection charges they apply to their own information suppliers and to competitors in an investigation of the differential rates charged by the networks to private operators offering information services via the national system, and rates they charged to their own subsidiaries offering the same services; it declined to say whether the inquiry had been set in train by a complaint, Reuter notes.
