Ferranti International Signal Plc is putting two Italian subsidiaries, radio communications and electronic warfare specialist Elmer SpA of Pomezia, Rome, and space electronics specialist Laben SpA of Vindrome, Milan, into 50-50 joint ventures with Aeritalia SpA: Aeritalia will subscribe at least $36m of new capital for the equity stakes in the two companies, which did an aggregate $124m in sales in the year to March and had net assets at that date valued at $16.6m.
