The already bombed-out shares in defence electronics and computer services group Ferranti International Plc slid anew after the company said yesterday that it was in talks that might lead to a bid for the company at a mere penny a share. The shares plunged 5.75 pence to hit 3.5 pence after the announcement – such a deal would value the company at just UKP9.4m. Ferranti gave no further details but said that it would offer more information as soon as possible.
