Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Fore Systems Inc has announced first customer shipments of its 155Mbps OC-3C/STM-1 Asynchronous Transfer Mode adaptor boards, with versions for Sbus, Hewlett-Packard Co EISA bus, EISA bus and VMEbus available. The company plans to add versions for the Micro Channel and NuBus systems before the end of the year. The company says the boards use its Advanced Cell Processing Architecture, which is based on an embedded Intel Corp 80960 RISC processor with AAL, cell-processing and direct memory access hardware, and come with either SC or ST interfaces for multimode fibre.
