John Jarvis, former CFO at the Santa Cruz Operation, has been appointed managing director of Psion Plc’s UK operation. He succeeds Peter Norman who ‘retired’ in October at the ripe old age of 39. Psion hit problems when it proved unable to increase output sufficiently to meet demand for its Psion 5 handheld computers. A wave of executive blood-letting had been predicted but Jarvis’ appointment may convince investors that stability has been restored to the company.
