London’s not the only one with a brand new stock exchange computer trading system. The German markets were quiet on Friday morning as traders tried out the new Deutsche Borse’s Xetra electronic dealing system, a client-server system to replace the old IBIS DAX host system. Client software can run on IBM AIX, Sun Solaris or Windows NT clients installed at trading brokers, and connecting up to Digital Equipment Corp Alpha servers at Deutsche Borse in Frankfurt.
