Responding to the Wall Street Journal story that it would meet on February 5 to decide what, if any, action it would take against Microsoft Corp (CI No 2,082), the US Federal Trade Commission says that there is no meeting scheduled for February 5 – but as it does not even admit it is investigating Microsoft – its policy is not to discuss any investigations it might be making until a formal lawsuit is launched, the denial counts for little.
