Bill Gates is working hard to lose the miser tag that hearsay and rumor have saddled him with, making a series of high-profile donations to charity over the last few months. The latest is $200m of his own and his wife’s money to US and Canadian libraries through the newly formed Gates Library Foundation, which will provide low-income libraries with public Internet facilities. Microsoft Corp will also provide software donations worth $200m.
