IT services provider Getronics NV has announced plans to acquire the Nr. 1 Software licensing business of CAD software reseller Blue Fox Enterprises NV for an undisclosed sum.
Amsterdam, Netherlands-based Getronics has been focused on asset sales rather than takeovers in the last two years, as it struggles to pay off debt relating to its $1.4bn purchase of Wang Global in 1999.
Nr. 1 Software currently operates as part of Amsterdam-based Blue Fox, which is listed on the Dutch Stock Exchange. The unit manages software-licensing issues for clients including airlines, energy companies and hospitals, and specilaizes in managing software from Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, and Network Associates. Getronics expects the acquisition to close by the end of January 2004.
