Taiwan topped in billing figures while Europe topped in YoY growth
Global semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings reached $11.92bn in the second quarter of 2011, according to the new data released by SEMI.
The data from the global industry association for companies that supply manufacturing technology and materials to the world’s chip makers revealed that billing figure reported 31% rise over the corresponding quarter last year and dropped 1% compared to Q1 this year.
Worldwide semiconductor equipment bookings were $10.76bn in the second quarter of 2011.
The booking figure is 8% less than the same quarter a year ago and 3% lower than the bookings figure for the first quarter of 2011.
Taiwan topped the billing figure with $2.76bn bookings during the quarter which was followed by North America and Korea with booking figures of $2.21bn and $2.17bn, respectively.
In terms of year on year growth Europe topped chart reporting 116% rise in billing figures followed by North America and China which clocked 79% and 57% growth, respectively.
