Google Inc has released a new Java application for mobile phones that lets users search and email using fewer clicks and scrolling.
The free Gmail client promises as much as five times faster access and use of Google’s email program on cell phones, thanks to automatic pre-fetching of messages.
It also means that attachments such as files and photos are viewable and automatically resized to fit the user’s mobile phone.
The client is currently compatible with all J2ME-enabled phones in the US and works with various carrier plans, said Mountain View, California-based Google.
