A digital guru has predicted that the internet will bring world peace by breaking down national boundaries. Nicholas Negroponte, head of MIT’s Media Laboratory, said that twenty years from now, children who are used to finding out about other countries by the click of a mouse are not going to know what nationalism is. He attacked Deutsche Telekom for raising phone rates and deterring children from using the net. Access by kids to the internet should be like kids breathing clean air.
