Claims to cut down Windows 7 deployment costs by one-fourth
HCL Technologies has launched XpressMigrate suite of offerings for Windows 7 migrations, which it claims to enable enterprises to minimise risk, bring higher visibility and reduce Windows 7 deployment cost upto 25%.
According to HCL, the new XpressMigrate suite consists of three offerings, remote desktop deployment offering for Microsoft windows 7; application compatibility factory service (ACFS) for Windows 7; and application packaging service (APFS) for windows 7.
The remote desktop deployment offers centralised deployment of the operating system and packaged applications which automate the deployment process for low manual intervention. It also provides assurance against loss of data through a user state backup and restoration process for user data and settings, the company said.
The company said that it has also developed a deployment dashboard which provides both an overall and in-depth status report for all deployments. The dashboard gives visibility on milestones like number of deployments completed, failed deployments and status of opened tickets, status view of current active deployments, time taken for deployments, and upcoming schedule for deployments.
The company claims that the ACFS and APFS offerings provide application compatibility, packaging and re-imaging offerings that offer an accelerated windows 7 deployment based on Microsoft best practices using the company’s tried and tested migration approach.
Maninder Singh, head of end user computing services at HCL Technologies Infrastructure Services Division (HCLT ISD) said: “Our XpressMigrate suite offers compelling benefits to enterprises like centralised deployment of Desktop OS & Applications, automated process with minimum manual intervention, high visibility, reporting and simplified image management. This reiterates our commitment to providing innovative solutions around Microsoft platforms to enterprises.”
