Hong Kong Telecommunications Ltd yesterday inaugurated a high-capacity digital circuit linking China’s Guangdong Province with the US, in a co-operative venture with MCI Communications Corp and the Guangdong Telecommunications Administrative Bureau: the 64Kbps circuit will be used by Woolworth Corp to link its Guangzhou office with its Hong Kong and US operations, with trans-Pacific traffic funnelled onto the optical cable linking the British colony with Guangzhou.
