Hewlett-Packard Co co-founders William Hewlett and David Packard have pledged $25m to create science fellowships at Stanford University, the latest in a string of gifts there from the high-technology pioneers, the Wall Street Journal said: the cash will go to fund research by junior faculty in engineering and the natural sciences, beginning in the 1994-95 school year; faculty members who get fellowships will receive as much as $100,000 a year for their research.
