Designed to simplify management, increase security and enhance user experience
HP has introduced Client Infrastructure Services (CIS) portfolio, designed to simplify management, increase security, enhance user experience and enable smoother migration to new operating systems.
The new CIS portfolio includes client strategy, client migration and client virtualisation services. The client strategy services take a business value approach to client architecture strategy and planning to accelerate the transformation while client migration services boosts the transition to new operating systems, HP said.
According to HP, the new client migration services include, end-user segmentation which identifies candidates for traditional vs. virtual desktops by analysing end-user segments across type, usage scenarios, applications and performance requirements; and application rationalisation by resolving compatibility issues and find opportunities for virtual desktop infrastructure and application streaming.
HP said that the integrated client management speeds deployment and reduces time spent on ongoing management by automating the migration to virtual or traditional clients along with the refresh of devices and software updates.
The Client Virtualisation Services are designed to help clients realise the benefits of virtualisation with services targeting client, storage and server technologies from HP, VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft, the company said.
HP has updated its portfolio to include ProLiant WS460c G6 Workstation Blade with new graphics capabilities combined with enhanced memory per blade.
For thin clients, the HP TeemTalk 7.2 eliminates redundant keystrokes and automates complex tasks with features like programmable soft buttons, keyboard re-mapping, programmable toolbars and one-click screen navigation. The HP Device Manager accelerates implementation and upgrades through installation, automation, and backup and recovery.
Alan Wilson, vice president of infrastructure consulting at HP, said: “HP can help organisations address today’s desktop management challenges to gain back control and delight the end user. HP delivers the industry’s broadest client infrastructure portfolio around the world, covering end-user devices, applications and operations management, and technology infrastructure.”
