Claims to provide network fabric featuring twice the performance
HP has introduced a networking portfolio, which it claims to combine the best of ProCurve and 3Com to provide an advanced network fabric that is up to twice as fast with half the energy use, and at a 65% lower total cost of ownership.
According to HP, its networking portfolio allows clients to eliminate redundant equipment by integrating wired and wireless environments with security from the edge to core. It offers ‘single pane of glass’ management to configure, deploy and monitor the network, and enables common policy management and reduces human error.
With the addition of the TippingPoint portfolio, HP has expanded the Secure Advantage product family to deliver proactive threat protection. The company also announced that its newest internal data centre will run completely on its networking products.
HP said that the new portfolio consists of four product families that address specific client requirements from the branch to data centre. The company said that the integration of the 3Com portfolio strengthens its position in Latin America as well as China.
Marius Haas, senior vice president and general manager of HP, said: “Clients need a reduction in complexity, more efficiency and greater flexibility in their networking solutions. HP’s integrated networking portfolio challenges the status quo with more innovative technology that enables convergence across servers, storage and networking, at better economics to help clients deliver the outcomes that matter most to them.”
