Motorola Inc builds its own computers, but its Land Mobile Products Center has gone to Hewlett-Packard Co with a $10m contract to supply about 600 HP 9000 Series 700 workstations in 1994, with an option on another 1,200 over the next two years: the Model 712, Model 715 and Model 735 workstations are for use in design, development and testing of circuitry, embedded software and hardware by Motorola’s electrical, mechanical and software engineers.
