Hughes Electronic Corp’s Hughes Space & Communications Co division was set to launch its first HS 610HP satellite yesterday, aboard a Russian rocket. The company says PanAmSat Corp plans to use the satellite for television services direct to the home in Latin America, and for other video and telecommunications services in Europe and the US.
