International Bank of Commerce has chosen to implement biometric fingerprint readers from Saflink Corporation to minimize the need for passwords and ensure secure user authentication and network access across its 200 branches.
Saflink, a supplier of biometric security products, says Texas-based IBC will use its SAFsolution to replace its traditional password-based security measures.
By mitigating the risk of lost or stolen passwords, SAFsolution’s authentication technology can provide more secure access to IBC’s network and critical business applications. At the same time, SAFsolution is expected to reduce the demands on IT helpdesks by minimizing the need for password resets.
Chris Loehr, IBC network manager, said, SAFsolution provides the network and application security we felt was missing with traditional passwords. SAFsolution authenticates that our users are on the network when they say they are and provides much stronger safeguards against unauthorized access.
