Cadam Interactive Solids Design Version 3 Release 2
Cadam Interactive Solids Design Version 3 Release 2 supports concurrent-engineering design methodology with tools to that create, analyse and document designs of parts and assemblies. Visualisation techniques, including local 5080 dial support, enable users to work on three-dimensional designs, but also provide communication of issues across all groups involved in the design cycle. It incorporates three-dimensional wireframe construction aids for defining profile geometry and building solids. Version 3 Release 2 offers a push-button interface to stereolithography machines via a file created from the solid model. The single primary licence options range from $4,641 to $55,698, and annual licences go from $819 to $9,807. Multiple primary licences are from $3,710 to $38,974, and annual licences are priced at from $655 to $6,856.
3D Mesh Geometry Version 3 Release 2
The Cadam 3D Mesh Geometry Version 3 Release 2 program provides users with pre-processing and post-processing tools. Pre-processing tools enable mesh geometry and loading condi tions to be added directly to existing release drawings or to surfaced three-dimensional master models. Boundary conditions and material properties for beams and thin shell or solid elements can be added to the input files. Interfacing to other third-party or proprietary analysis packages is handled through Fortran subroutines. A single primary licence goes from $9,285 to $44,552, while annual licences are from $1,635 to $7,843. Multiple primary licences are from $7,430 to $31,176, and annual licences are between $1,305 and $5,485.
Computer-Aided Dimensional Inspection Measurement, Cadam AEC Schematics
Cadam Computer-Aided Dimensional Inspection Measurement System Version 3 Release 2 enables the automation of quality assurance processes with an interactive measurement programming system. IBM says that this program gives users the tools they need to automatically generate control data for computer-controlled co-ordinate measuring machines. A single primary licence is $14,855 and the annual licence is $1,830. The multiple primary licence is $10,390 and the annual licence is $1,830. Cadam AEC, Architecture /Engineering /Construction, Schematics Version 3 Release 2 provides tools for checking logic errors in process plants. It provides capabilities for extracting data from schematics to produce reports, and data is extracted using either user-written report programs or the report writing features of DB2 and SQL/DS. The Cadam AEC Schematics program enables data to be extracted from the model and put into intermediate data files that can be uploaded into SQL/DS or DB2 programs. The intermediate data files can also be accessed directly for use in generating customised user-written reports. Cadam AEC Schematics is a new product, but IBM says that it is being introduced as Version 3 Release 2 to be consistent with the numbering structure of other Cadam software. It’s available September 27, and the single monthly licence is $1,380, a primary licence is $31,700, an annual licence is $5,600. Under the multiple option, a monthly licence is $1,105, primary licence $25,360 and the multiple annual licence comes in at $4,480.
Professional Cadam Interactive Design
Professional Cadam Interactive Design Version 3 Release 3 reads, stores, edits, interactively display, and output raster images concurrently with Professional Cadam drawings. Also available are enhancements providing plot format support, foreground plot scheduling, and flange angle spline support. Running on the RS/6000, a primary licence option is $8,500, an annual licence is $1,500 and a multiple licence costs $1,200.
Professional Cadam View Version 3.3
Professional Cadam View Version 3 Release 3 is said to provide a low-cost alternative to a full Professional Cadam licence when users need only the capability to view and interrogate existing drawings, and IBM says that additional savings can achieved by using a multiple Xstation or X Window System terminal configuration. Enhanceme
nts include the capacity to operate in a stand-alone environment and an interactive Visual Compare function. A Professional Cadam Interactive Design licence is no longer a prerequisite and Release 3 enables customers to install View on any supported RS/6000 workstation. Available September 27, the primary licence is $1,595, a single annual licence is $280 and a multiple licence is $225.
Surface Design, Manufacturing Programs
3D Surface Design Version 3 Release 3 provides a range of geometric tools for creating, modifying and analysing designs involving three-dimensional wireframe and complex surface geometry. Running on an RS/6000, it offers techniques for modifying surfaces that include trimming, offsetting, filleting, splitting, connecting, and blending. The primary licence is $5,355, a single licence is $945 and the multiple licence is $756. Professional Cadam Manufacturing System Version 3 Release 3 and Professional Cadam Machining Centre Version 3 Release 3 provide an integrated solution for graphical numerical control programming of two-dimensional and three-dimensional part geometry. The Manufacturing System serves as the foundation for all manufacturing applications, and the Machining Center is the manufacturing application designed to facilitate the programming of milling machines and program lathes. Enhancements include support of three-dimensional wireframe and surface data, automatic drilling, and interactive CLDATA editing. The primary licence is $7,140, the single licence is $1,260 and a multiple licence is $1,005.
Cadam Access: IUE Version 3.3
Cadam Access IUE Version 3 Release 3 is said to be the basis for Cadam’s open architecture. Users and third parties can interface to the Cadam database to customise and complement existing applications, to develop new ones or interface to proprietary and third party packages. Programs execute within the Cadam environment and have full user dialogue capabilities, and IUE programs can access both two-dimensional and NURBS-based three-dimensional wireframe and surfaced models. Application developers can write IUE programs in either Fortran or C programming languages, and a bi-directional interface for Data Exchange Format is included. The primary licence is $1,785, the single annual licence is $315, a multiple licence is $252.
