IBM Corp is set to ship a swathe of Tivoli storage, network and server software tools that have been cut down to suit small and medium-sized customers.
Branded as Tivoli Express, the new software will ship over the next six weeks, and includes SME-tailored versions of the current IBM Tivoli Identity Manager, Storage Manager and Monitoring tools.
IBM said it developed the software with the help of over 40 channel partners. Judging by the comment of one integrator quoted in IBM’s press release, the new software will fill what has been a big gap in the company’s portfolio.
We expect to see a 20% increase in sales resulting from these new products. Before customers in the midmarket were underserved said Mike Todd, CTO at integrator Northwind Consulting Services, which specializes in IBM products.
