In recognition that its country managers now bring home 58% of the bacon – or did in 1988 – IBM has elected four of them IBM vice-presidents: the four are Hans-Olaf Henkel, president of IBM Deutschland; Ennio Presutti, president and chief executive of IBM Italia; Takeo Shiina, president and chief executive of IBM Japan Ltd; and John Thompson, who is chairman and chief executive of IBM Canada Ltd.
