February looks like being a busy month for IBM Corp if those mainframe kickers come through on schedule, because the company is also tipped to energise the AS/400 line with enhanced processors that offer up to 60% better performance at the top end, and offer 30% better price-performance throughout the line. The new models are also expected to be the ones that kiss goodbye to the Motorola Inc 68020-based input-output processors and to replace them with a new input-output processor that uses a RISC.
