IBM Corp has debuted a new line of services for the Indian market, specifically targeting small and medium-sized businesses with what the company says are modular and easy-to-implement products.
The initial product launch includes IBM eMail Security Services, IBM Security Assessment Service and IBM Site Assessment Services, all of which are pre-priced. The company said it will roll out additional products under this service line through the year.
IBM is one of the key global services vendors in the Indian domestic market, and the company strengthened its position with last year’s acquisition of Networks Solutions Pvt Ltd, which offers application and infrastructure support services for a range of mid-market and enterprise companies, both globally and in India.
A recent report from Indian trade group NASSCOM pegged the domestic market for software and services at $6bn for fiscal 2006, up from $4.8bn in the prior year. This figure is expected to rise to between $7bn and $7.3bn for fiscal 2007.
