After investing nearly $200m over the past two years, IBM Corp has opened its Unix collaboration center in Austin, Texas.
Christened as ACC (Aix Collaboration Center), the facility will foster collaborative research between ISVs, customers and developers around IBM AIX-flavored Unix operating system. Security, virtualization, performance and scalability will be a key focus.
The facility will also provide remote and onsite testing for new AIX-based applications and middleware technologies. A staff of technical consultants will also be on hand to lend their expertise.
The ACC will be managed by Satya Sharma, chief AIX architect for IBM and one of a handful of Distinguished Engineers at IBM.
