Best of a bunch of mostly repeats in IBM’s regular US Tuesday announcement yesterday was a trade-in promotion to allow users of 4956-60D, 60E, 61D, E70, 4954-60D or 4965-60D models of the Series 1 mini to trade them in for the newer 4956-G10, H10, J00, or 4965-E00 machines with 72Mb disk. They will be billed at the single-unit price and will get an – unspecified – credit when IBM comes around to pick up the displaced machine. People with 25 or more are invited to haggle: order by February 15, to be in by September 15.
