IBM Corp has negotiated a patent cross-licensing pact with Adobe Systems Inc. Under the agreement, Adobe will be able to use IBM graphics and multimedia inventions for current and future products, while IBM will have access to Adobe patents, augmenting its existing licenses for Adobe Postscript and Postscript Extreme, for use in its printer products. IBM has been getting tough with software developers over recent years in a bid to get recognition for its 3,000 plus software patents.
