Worldwide shipments of the AS/400 began this week to over 250 customers in the US and more than 1,000 other customers around the globe, IBM announced yesterday, citing it the largest first customer ship of a multiuser system in its history. IBM Business Partners worldwide have introduced nearly 1,500 new AS/400 applications since launch, bringing the total to some 2,500.
