Dow Jones Indexes has selected IBM servers to calculate its suite of worldwide stock indexes and averages.
Dow Jones says it has already witnessed a performance boost since migrating to IBM’s pSeries platform and now has the ability to more easily deal with increases in market activity.
According to IBM, the pSeries system will enable Dow Jones’ Global Indexes and Averages real-time applications to scale, improving its position for financial market growth.
Our applications will leverage the performance capabilities in pSeries/AIX architecture to produce, and support, new global indexes and averages to create new revenue streams, said Michael Petronella, president of Dow Jones indexes/ventures.
