IBM is to take over US marketing of the Platinum accounting software under an exclusive agreement with the developer, Advanced Business Microsystems Inc of Irvine, California: Platinum was introduced in 1985, is designed to meet the accounting needs of small and large businesses, and includes 19 applications with functions ranging from general ledger to bank reconciliation; Advanced will continue to support and maintain Platinum, and will work with IBM to develop future Platinum enhancements and other products; the software is offered in both OS/2 and MS-DOS versions.
