ICL has a new design engineering system called the Engineering Management Control System (EMCS) to control the development of new and changed product designs and their release to manufacture: the System’s database enables engineers to develop parts lists and bills of materials, while advanced project tracking facilities facilitate the control and monitoring of all types of design and engineering projects; using the database, change proposals can be circulated quickly, speeding up the process of obtaining comments and authorisations, thus helping to reduce design lead times and giving companies a competitive edge via rapid responses.
