Icot Corp, of San Jose, California, has announced a new family of Ksaver remote terminal emulation products, designed to provide up to three host sessions on MS-DOS micros linked to IBM or IBM compatible mainframes. According to Computer Systems News, the packages use SNA-based code, and support high- and low-level applications, 3278 Model 3, 4, and 5 emulation mode, and SG3 colour graphics. They also support 3274 model 51C controller emulations, enabling users to combine two 2378 Model 2 terminal emulation sessions with a 3287 printer session. Icot claims that files can be sent and retrieved during a print session of this kind. In addition, the packages handle large-screen emulations on 3278 Models 3, 4, and 5, and 3279 Models S2B, S3B and S3G, and support both IBM high level language and proprietary application interfaces. The price for single-user SDLC-based Ksaver packages is $750, while X25-compatible releases cost $850. Eight-user, 16-user, and 32-user models cost $2,600, $3,600, and $4,600 respectively. All are available from Icot now in the US.
