Another secrets scandal has blown up in Japan, but this one has more elements of farce than anything else – a senior employee of Tokyo Aircraft Instrument Co apparently sold to a Japan-based representative of Aeroflot a program developed by his company for calculating flight plans according to prevailing weather conditions: we all know that even flying TWA with its forgetful 747 pilots who absentmindedly come in over Heathrow with their wheels up is safer than flying Aeroflot, and the Japanese program seems to add just another reason for avoiding the Russian airline – the program he sold was unfinished.
