The International Network Services joint venture of General Electric Information Services and ICL Ltd has enhanced its Tradanet electronic data interchange service through the installation of distributed processors to speed up the service and improve its capacity. The enhancements include concurrent delivery of data; on-line data selection and extraction to make the service cheaper and easier to use; on-line listing availability; and integrity checking for better security. The need to upgrade the service resulted from the huge increase in usage – traffic volume currently growing at between 15% and 20% each month, it says.
