In a bid to extend its dominance of the MP3 player market Apple has cut the prices of its iPod nano and shuffle ranges.
The new 1GB nano, Apple’s pencil thin iPod, can hold up to 240 songs and will retail for just under $149.
Apple has also slashed the prices on its Shuffle range, which use lower cost, lower capacity flash memory instead of hard drives. This will be seen as a direct challenge to Dell which only this week pulled out of the hard drive MP3 player market to concentrate on its flash players.
