According to the Global Pricing Congress in Geneva on Monday, by 2001, Italy will lead other European countries and the US in the percentage of its international calls made over the internet. With 8.0% of calls passing over the net, Italy will be nearly double Germany’s 4.3% and will be more than double the U.S. percentage of 3.8%. France and the UK were forecast to have 7.5% and 7.2% internet telephony, respectively.
