ITnet Ltd has won a five year, UKP30m, facilities management contract from Birmingham City Council. Under the contract, ITnet will take over the City’s Information Technology Department, which employs 230. The Department includes IBM, ICL and Bull mainframes; ITnet says its additional space will assist its attempts to bring in additional facilities management deals in the future. The company will also take over the lease of the council computer centre premises, giving it two data centres in the city. Birmingham-based ITnet, formed in 1987, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cadbury Schweppes Plc.
