Open source Java middleware vendor JBoss Inc has acquired objectone GmbH, its key German systems integrator and service provider, establishing JBoss Deutschland GmbH.
Atlanta, Georgia-based JBoss might be about to be acquired by Oracle Corp, according to rumors, but the company has made an acquisition of its own to grow its business in one of Europe’s strongest markets for open source software.
Berlin-based objectone is JBoss’s most successful German service partner and systems integrator, according to the company, and will be subsumed by the newly formed JBoss Deutschland on March 1.
Germany has proven to be one of the most dynamic open source markets and it is the right time for a dedicated JBoss team to be closer to our customers and partners, said Michel Goossens, JBoss VP EMEA.
The new JBoss Deutschland will continue to provide support services and training and work with local solution providers, and will be managed by objectone founder, Tobias Hartwig.
JBoss has been identified as an Oracle acquisition target in recent weeks, although both companies have declined to offer any comment on the speculation.
