JVC Disc America Co, established compact disc, CD-ROM and DVD manufacturer, has implemented HighJump’s radio frequency identification solution at its Kennesaw, Ga. fulfillment center to enable its customers to meet retail RFID requirements.
HighJump Software, a 3M company and provider of supply chain execution solutions, says JVC Disc America evaluated many RFID solution vendors and selected HighJump Compliance Advantage primarily due to its ability to adapt quickly to changing business processes and be implemented in a short timeframe.
HighJump claims an increasing number of the orders shipped from JVC’s Kennesaw facility required case or pallet-level RFID tagging to meet requirements of major retail chains. JVC Disc America therefore chose to deploy HighJump Compliance Advantage to incorporate RFID tagging into standard distribution operations, avoiding the need for a stand-alone work area and manual separation of shipments requiring RFID. All order processing stations are now said to be capable of completing orders with either bar codes or RFID.
Ron Vangrov, VP of JVC Disc America, said, JVC supports leading interactive entertainment and software publishers whose ship dates are critical to meeting product launches. The HighJump system allows us to incorporate a reliable, seamless method of RFID tagging while ensuring we consistently meet these dates for our customers.
JVC Disc America is also said to be evaluating other internal applications for RFID. These include RFID tagging of all inbound and outbound pallets, as well as automatic dock door-based readings to simplify both shipping and inventory management during peak periods.
