L M Ericsson Telefon AB reports that it has been chosen by Deutsche Bundespost Telekom as one of three suppliers for a broadband network pilot project to begin in 1994: the Swedish company will deliver one of the three Asynchronous Transfer Mode switching nodes in the pilot network, which will interwork with each other and with the German public telecommunications network; it did not name the other two winners of Asynchronous Transfer nodes with which it will have to interwork.
