G3 Mini could feature a 4.7-inch screen and 8MP camera.
Reports have surfaced indicating that the not-yet-announced LG G3 may be getting a smaller sibling, as PhoneArena finds information that alludes to a LG G3 Mini.
The keen-eyed smartphone experts found the evidence in the internal LG codenames for the devices. The G3 is codenamed the ‘B2’, indicating that the ‘B2MINI’ PhoneArena found will be a smaller G3 device.
The leaks follow the news that Google may be releasing a smaller, budget version of a Nexus mobile device, which will possibly coincide with the release of the Nexus 6.
There’s no images or specifications as of yet, but it is predicted the G3 Mini will come with a 720p display and perhaps a screen size of 4.7 inches. PhoneArena also expects the Mini to run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and sport an 8MP camera.
Rumours about the LG G3’s release now point to July release date, according to ZDNet Korea, which got the downlow from an LG ‘company official’. The source said the phone will be announced in June but an August release would be too late for the G3 to be competitive.
