Despite its involvement in the IBM-based Amadeus reservation systems joint venture, West Germany’s Lufthansa AG has plenty of other work for its complexes of Unisys Corp 1100/90 mainframes, had Unisys reports that the carrier has placed a major new order that will double the capacity of its 1100s by spring 1989: the order includes further mainframes, disk drives and communications processors to enable Lufthansa to keep up with growth in its passenger and freight transactions.
