The US Postal Service awarded an MCI Communications Corp-led group a five-year contract to manage its telecommunications network: the contract, the largest MCI has ever won, has a guaranteed value of at least $100m and a potential value of up to $3bn, and calls for the partners to provide an array of telecommunications services. Others on the contract team include Cisco Systems Inc and Digital Equipment Corp. The deal has two three-year renewal options that mean it could run for up to 11 years, MCI said.
