Scottish company Memory Corp Plc announced that it had licensed its yield-enhancing Variance Controlled Memory technology to Micron Technology Inc and its shares showed signs of life for the first time in months at the end of last week. The technology enables memory chip producers to increase the number of usable chips from each wafer, and production of Single-In-Line Memory Modules by Micron is scheduled to commence during 1997. Memory did not formally name the licensee, but the Daily Mail revealed that it is Micron Technology.
