Candle Corp and IBM Corp think the Object Management Group will turn out some kind of lightweight support for asynchronous messaging in the standard groups’ first go-round at the technology which is currently being pursued through an RFP technology specification process. The two think it inevitable OMG will eventually have to offer its membership a more substantial asynchronous messaging infrastructure – and services – to deliver objects across networks. Pulling no punches, Messaging will be more important than object technology in the long term, believes Candle chairman and CEO Aubrey Chernick.
