MFS Communications Inc, one of the 44 companies licensed to offer an international phone service from the UK licensees, and the company planning to partner Cable & Wireless Plc on its second cable, warns cable capacity is coming under pressure because of the Internet. However the UK government is confident that the new free-for-all will spur investment in new cables while British Telecommunications Plc reckons there are already enough cables to meet all the forecast demand until 2003.
